Forward & Strategic Services was founded in 2021 on a simple observation: small businesses are the ones that need HR support the most — and the ones most likely to go without it.

Hiring a full-time HR leader is out of reach for most small businesses. So compliance gets pushed off. Handbooks get copied from the internet or generative AI. Hiring gets done in a rush. And one day, a complaint, a lawsuit, or a key employee walking out the door reveals just how much was being held together with good intentions.

We started Forward & Strategic five years ago to give small businesses a different option: senior-level HR expertise, on demand, at a price that makes sense for where you are right now.

In the years since, we've built and audited HR foundations for clients across healthcare, non-profit, and financial services. We've helped first-time founders hire their first employees, guided growing teams through their first compliance audit, and stepped in as fractional HR for organizations that needed someone in the chair without the cost of a full hire.We've grown because our clients have grown — and they've stayed because we've kept showing up.

Feras Abdelrahman,
Principal Consultant & Founder

Feras Abdelrahman is a PHR-certified HR leader with over 15 years of experience building HR functions for healthcare, nonprofit, construction, and financial services organizations. He holds a Master of Science in Human Resources from DePaul University and is the founder and Principal Consultant of F&S Services Inc., where he helps small businesses build compliant, people-centered HR operations. In his personal time, he spends time coaching his 10 and 8 year old boys in their youth sports.

Sophia Khairallah joined F&S Services Inc. as an HR Consultant in 2021, bringing a perspective shaped by both formal HR training and frontline advocacy work. Sophia holds an MBA with a concentration in Human Resources Management and Healthcare from Saint Xavier University. She specializes in recruiting, benefits management, and consulting engagements across the firm's client base. Client base specialty in education, non-profit and healthcare.

Jaber Hinnawi, Consultant

Jaber Hinnawi joined F&S Services Inc. as an HR Consultant in 2023, bringing experience in employee relations, onboarding, payroll coordination, recruitment support, and HR administration within education and healthcare settings. . He holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Governor State University. He also holds a insurance broker’s license to offer health and life insurance for clients. Client specialty is education and non-profit. In his personal time, he enjoys traveling and outdoor activities.
